What is your story?
Too many times we go through our daily routines and forget that each one of us is individually unique. We have so much to offer and the value that we bring to our family, friends, co-workers, customers, and community is often greater than we realize. What makes us different and unique? I believe that when we dig beyond the surface, past the bills and daily responsibilities we tune into that small longing to do something meaningful. It is at that point where passion comes alive and purpose is born.
How do we make this dream into a reality? The inner longing needs a voice and that is You! It needs your past and present experiences. It is clothed and takes shape with your struggles, trials, and victories. Life doesn’t deal us the perfect hand and we have heard that when you are given lemons turn it into lemonade. So, tell your story and allow the things that you have been through, good-bad-indifferent, be the catalyst to expressing your story. Everyone enjoys hearing stories and it is our story that truly represents who we are and what we are about.
I was visiting with a client one day and this subject came up about what is your passion. My client replied, “I don’t have one”. After several minutes of asking different questions and digging deeper than the surface, there it was a story about how they were passionate about changing the lives of high school students through leadership programs and creating a foundation and program for the mentally ill.
